Lincoln's historic Haymarket, Located downtown near the University. This is my favorite area in Lincoln to hang out. I love the old warehouse buildings that are now restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. Some of my favorites are The Mill coffee shop, The Oven Indian restaurant and Starlight Lounge, you can have a blast from the past in this retro mod decorated lounge.

OFW 2010
I attended the finale show of Omaha Fashion Week Saturday night. I have to say I was quite impressed! The event was on Jones Street in the Old Market. I know Nebraska isn't exactly a fashion capital but I thought the event was very cool and there were some very talented designers. I've posted shots from various different designers shows. Omaha started putting together a fashion week in 2008 to help cultivate the talents of many local designers, stylists, models and photographers. It's been getting bigger each year.

Outdoor Market
Pictures from the Outdoor Market at Midtown Crossing in Omaha. It's nice to browse the market especially when the weather is so early fall and beautiful. I love the flowers we came across for sale at this market. They're from the Color Wheel Flower Co. and grown in Schuyler Nebraska. They really have all different beautiful colors!
Huskers 300th Sellout Tribute
Posting this video to kick off the first game of the Huskers 2010 Football season! My friend sent this to me when it came out last year as a tribute to the 300th consecutive sell out of Memorial Stadium, I think it's a good one.
Stop and smell the roses.... And the prairie grasses
Lauritzen Gardens is one of the nicest places to spend a lovely day outside. The little yellow flowers featured above are the state flower of Nebraska, Goldenrod. Goldenrod can also often be seen alongside the roads in Nebraska growing along pastures. It's also featured in the header of this blog alongside the edge of a corn field.

From the home office of Wahoo NE
In 1996 the contest was over and Wahoo officially became the home office of the David Letterman show. Now we get to submit the top 10 lists;)
Welcome to Wahoo
I'm starting this blog to share with everyone the things I love about Nebraska. So I guess I'll start with my home town, Wahoo!
This fictional book titled after Wahoo Nebraska was written a few years ago, my friend stumbled upon it at Barnes & Noble and gave me her copy when she was done. Now I gift a copy to anyone who makes a trip to Wahoo from far away. It's a very silly teen read that's very loosely based on Wahoo (I'm pretty sure the authors are not from around here and I'm not even convinced they came here to check it out;). It's about a bratty high school girl from a big city who gets sent to Wahoo under some kind of witness protection program. I would say the only accurate account was their landing at the Omaha airport and their drive on the highway through many cornfields to get here......
